Hachimori Inari Jinja (八森稲荷神社) & the Iron Plate

Hachimori Inari Jinja (八森稲荷神社)
There is a small Shinto shrine called Hachimori Inari Jinja (八森稲荷神社), also known as the "Oinari-sama of Nishimachi (西町のお稲荷様)," standing in the Tsujidomotomachi District of Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture.

There is an iron plate on display next to the shrine.  It is said this iron plate was used for testing at the proving ground of the Imperial Japanese Navy at Tsujido Beach in 1888.  Experts concluded that this iron plate was made in the UK since the chemical composition was close to the steel plates used for the Titanic and the Japanese battleship Mikasa.
