The War Memorial "Heiwa no Ishizue (平和の礎)" in Chigasaki Park (茅ヶ崎公園)

There is a monument named "Heiwa no Ishizue (平和の礎)" (which literally translates to foundation of peace), standing in Chigasaki Park (茅ヶ崎公園), close to the beach.  This monument serves as a memorial to honor the 1,190 Chigasaki citizens who died in war and was erected in March 2008 to replace the previous war memorial which was suffering from damage due to aging.

The city office said the monument is lit up every night at 19:00 ~ 21:00 so went to the site around 19:40 and got this:
