Koide River (小出川) Blooms with Japanese Plum Blossoms and Kawazu-zakura

The Japanese plum blossoms along Koide River, by the Shin-Tsurumine Bridge (新鶴嶺橋), in Chigasaki are in full bloom.

The Kawazu-zakura (河津桜) and nanohana (canola flowers), planted south of National Route 468 along the river, are also blooming.  Kawazu-zakura is an early flowering variety of cherry blossoms and is believed to be a hybrid of Taiwan cherry and, presumably, Oshima cherry.
